16-YEAR-OLD THOMAS KILLED WITH KNIVES

BY A GROUP OF YOUNG PEOPLE FROM THE CITY

Strong indignation is sweeping through a section of the political class following the death of a 16-year-old teenager in Crépol, a village in Drôme. The young man lost his life following a knife attack during the intrusion of around ten people during an evening organized by the town.

This tragic event arouses emotion within right-wing and far-right circles. Thomas, a 16-year-old boy, was fatally stabbed on the night of Saturday to Sunday during the "winter ball" in Crépol, a village with barely more than 500 inhabitants in Drôme.
“His family will remain dignified and will not incite a riot. As usual, some will keep silent about his murder perpetrated by individuals who came to Crépol to attack young French people,” declares the leader of Reconquête, Éric Zemmour, on X ( formerly Twitter).

Thomas, a “victim of wildness”

A group of at least ten people infiltrated the village hall in the middle of the evening. A security agent, denying them access, was injured by a stab. In difficulty, participants left the evening, triggering a general fight, specifies the Valencia prosecutor, Laurent de Caigny.

Thomas died of a stab wound while on his way to Lyon hospital.

The leader of the Republicans, Éric Ciotti, interprets the death of the teenager as a “victim of the savagery of France”. “No, Thomas was not simply in the wrong place at the wrong time!”, affirms the MP for Alpes-Maritimes.

The emotion and grief are palpable in Crépol. Denouncing "the barbarity and tragedy" of the night, the RC Romans-Péage rugby club, to which the young man belonged, posted on social networks a photo of him, smiling, wearing his jersey.
A minute of silence in tribute was observed this Sunday before a match organized by the club. The young boy's friends describe him as "a happy go lucky guy", always ready to bring others together and ease conflicts.

"What happened at the ball in Crépol, a village in the Drôme, is not a simple 'brawl', as the media claim: it is the effect of a savagery which disrupts lives and shatters them others,” writes the president of the National Rally, Jordan Bardella.

Darmanin reacts “faster for a crushed cat”

The observation is shared by Bruno Retailleau. The head of the LR senators evokes on social networks "the state of ultra-violence into which part of our youth is sinking", attributed largely to the feeling of impunity.
For the moment, the government, like the left, maintains a discreet silence. Gérald Darmanin, usually quick to react, has not yet spoken, causing annoyance within Reconquête.

The Minister of the Interior "reacted more quickly for a cat crushed by a TGV than for Thomas, massacred by the barbarians of Romans-sur-Isère 15 kilometers from Crépol", deplores Marion Maréchal, candidate for the European elections. She refers to the cat crushed by a train in Paris last January, which deeply shocked the tenant of Place Beauvau.
According to the first elements collected, the group's aggression seemed to be premeditated and "perhaps linked to a dispute with someone" present at the evening, explains Laurent de Caigny.
The vagueness remains regarding the motivations of the attackers, "but an element collected allows us to consider that this expedition is not simply justified by the simple intention of 'going to the ball' in Crépol", specifies a judicial source.

An investigation into “homicide and attempted homicide” by an “organized gang” was opened and entrusted to the gendarmes. No suspects have yet been apprehended.
