CONSUMER ELECTRONIC SHOW

FRENCH START-UP AND CONNECTED HOUSE

A few weeks before the Consumer Electronic Show CES, the high-mass high-tech companies in Las Vegas, which will be held from January 9 to 12, several start-ups presented their innovations at the Palais Brongniart.

Many are still confined to the connected objects sector, the largest high-tech fair in the world. 5,000 French people went to the 2017 edition, and more than 250 companies showed their innovations (including 200 start-ups), three times more than four years ago.

And this year, no doubt, the French are banking on the connected home. On the occasion of the big show in Las Vegas, start-ups will present their latest innovations, sometimes just marketed.

This time again, the French elegance should play security by carrying projects around connected objects for the home or health .

A segment on which emerged a real "French Touch." This is a real glimpse of the house of tomorrow.

This will be the case, for example, of Eric Denoyer, former CEO of Numericable and SFR, who came to unveil the objects designed by his start-up, Otodo.

At this little game, the technology of Otodo is particularly interesting.

The start-up has developed a small box to connect to its Internet box, as a hub, able to control connected objects, such as bulbs, but also objects that are simply radio controlled.

If someone uses shutters or a gate for example, the small case of Otodo will be able to manage them.

Ween has developed a location system on the smartphones of its users : according to its location, if it approaches or moves away from its home, Ween activates or not the heating, shutters, etc.

She has developed a smart thermostat, already unveiled at CES in Las Vegas. But this tool incorporates an unexpected feature, managing the location of users.

However, no question of going to buy the system of Ween, or that of Otodo. Both start-ups sell their solutions directly to home builders or operators.

To enter the connected home of tomorrow, the start-up Ween has retained the same mode of distribution, selling its solution directly to operators and home builders

Other French manufacturers, such as Legrand, Somfy and Valeo , are joined by newcomers: the automotive supplier Faurecia (which was exhibiting in Detroit earlier), or Navya , the manufacturer of autonomous shuttles.

We do not yet know if Renault, L'Oréal, Pernod Ricard and other CAC 40 companies will present new products and services at CES 2018 as they have been able to do.

They will be able to exhibit in new thematic sections of the show, dedicated to smart city, sports and artificial intelligence.

The CES 2018 will take place from January 9 to 12 in Las Vegas. 170,000 visitors from around the world will discover the innovations of nearly 4,000 exhibitors
